"White Horse" and "Love Story"

Hey everyone,

I have a lot of new pictures and things to post, but before I do all of that, I just wanted to gush a little bit. lol I'm a huge fan of Taylor Swift and she just had a new album come out November 11th, called Fearless. Two of my favorite songs on the new album are titled "White Horse" and "Love Story." The latter is her latest single, and the other will likely be a single (I believe it's already gone #1 on iTunes). I thought I'd post the lyrics to these songs, for those that haven't heard. I like her music so much because many times, I feel like she has snuck her way into my head and has written the very stories of my life. It's weird, I know...but some of her songs just hit that close to home.

"White Horse" is about when you're in a relationship with someone and you break up and it's that moment when you realize that the person you fell for isn't who you thought they were. It's when you're fooled into this fairy-tale feeling that isn't anywhere close to reality. It's the moment you stop and think, "Wow...this isn't the one that is going to sweep me off my feet." I think it's something that many people have been through...including myself. Here's the lyrics:

"White Horse"

Say you're sorry
That face of an angel
Comes out just when you need it to
As I paced back and forth all this time
Cause I honestly believed in you
Holding on
The days drag on
Stupid girl,
I should have known, I should have known

[Chorus]
That I'm not a princess, this ain't a fairy tale
I'm not the one you'll sweep off her feet,
Lead her up the stairwell
This ain't Hollywood, this is a small town,
I was a dreamer before you went and let me down
Now it's too late for you
And your white horse, to come around

Baby I was naive,
Got lost in your eyes
And never really had a chance
I had so many dreams
About you and me
Happy endings
Now I know

[Chorus]
That I'm not a princess, this ain't a fairy tale
I'm not the one you'll sweep off her feet,
Lead her up the stairwell
This ain't Hollywood, this is a small town,
I was a dreamer before you went and let me down
Now it's too late for you
And your white horse, to come around

And there you are on your knees,
Begging for forgiveness, begging for me
Just like I always wanted but I'm so sorry

Cause I'm not your princess, this ain't a fairytale
I'm gonna find someone someday who might actually treat me well
This is a big world, that was a small town
There in my rearview mirror disappearing now
And its too late for you and your white horse
Now its too late for you and your white horse, to catch me now

Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa
Try and catch me now
Oh, it's too late
To catch me now

Hearing the actual song would be better (so I encourage you all to "YouTube it"), but you get the idea. The next one is called "Love Story", and if you listen to country radio, I'm sure you've heard it a half a dozen times already.

"Love Story"

We were both young, when I first saw you.
I close my eyes and the flashback starts-
I'm standing there, on a balcony in summer air.

I see the lights; see the party, the ball gowns.
I see you make your way through the crowd-
You say hello, little did I know...

That you were Romeo, you were throwing pebbles-
And my daddy said "stay away from Juliet"-
And I was crying on the staircase-
begging you please don't go...
And I said...

Romeo take me somewhere, we can be alone.
I'll be waiting; all there's left to do is run.
You'll be the prince and I'll be the princess,
It's a love story, baby, just say yes.

So I sneak out to the garden to see you.
We keep quiet, because we're dead if they knew-
So close your eyes... escape this town for a little while.
Oh, Oh.

Cause you were Romeo - I was a scarlet letter,
And my daddy said "stay away from Juliet" -
but you were everything to me-
I was begging you, please don't go-
And I said...

Romeo take me somewhere, we can be alone.
I'll be waiting; all there's left to do is run.
You'll be the prince and I'll be the princess.
It's a love story, baby, just say yes-

Romeo save me, they're trying to tell me how to feel.
This love is difficult, but it's real.
Don't be afraid, we'll make it out of this mess.
It's a love story, baby, just say yes.
Oh, Oh.

I got tired of waiting.
Wondering if you were ever coming around.
My faith in you was fading-
When I met you on the outskirts of town.
And I said...

Romeo save me, I've been feeling so alone.
I keep waiting, for you but you never come.
Is this in my head, I don't know what to think-
He knelt to the ground and pulled out a ring and said...

Marry me Juliet, you'll never have to be alone.
I love you, and that's all I really know.
I talked to your dad -- go pick out a white dress
It's a love story, baby just say... yes.
Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh.

We were both young when I first saw you.

I love this song because in a way, it resembles my life with Jason now. Mainly, it's the difference between the two songs. In the first song Taylor sings, "I'm gonna find someone someday, who might actually treat me well," and that is exactly what I've found. I also love the princess theme in "Love Story" because I feel like Jason treats me like a princess. My favorite verse of the song is this one:

"Romeo save me, they're trying to tell me how to feel.
This love is difficult, but it's real.
Don't be afraid, we'll make it out of this mess.
It's a love story, baby, just say yes.
Oh, Oh."

The reason this verse stands out to me is because I have felt this. I know what it's like when people are trying to tell you how to feel or how to take a situation. And sometimes it seems overwhelming...but it's real. It's great knowing that you have someone who will walk with you side by side. Someone you can say, "Don't be afraid, we'll make it out of this mess..."

I just love these songs, and I love the entire album. And obviously...I love Jason. :)
